What is a doula?
A doula is your sister, your best friend, your confidante and advocate. Doulas provides continuous emotional, physical, informational care to a mother and her family during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Unlike a medical provider, a doula does not perform clinical tasks or make decisions for you. Instead I walk beside you, offering calm, grounded guidance and hands-on support every step of the way during your transition from maiden to mother.
During pregnancy doulas can educate, help with aches and pains commonly related to pregnancy, cook supportive nourishing meals, provide resources and referrals, and encourage and support you through your pregnancy journey. During labor + childbirth I am your advocate, protector of your birth space, and cheerleader-I’m here to help you achieve the birth of your dreams. During the postpartum period doulas support the mother so that she can rest and recuperate with her new baby. This can include meal prepping, belly binding, light household work, breastfeeding support, birth debriefing, and much more.
As a traditional doula, my role is deeply rooted in honoring the sacred journey of motherhood. I support the mother-baby dyad as a whole, recognizing the powerful bond between them and the importance of nurturing both with gentleness, patience, consent, and respect. When the mother and baby are respected and cared for, they thrive.
My care is centered on:
Peaceful, informed birth – Supporting your choices with evidence-based information and a calm, steady presence.
Traditional mothering wisdom – Offering care and insight that honors time-tested practices, intuitive mothering, and the scared rhythm of motherhood
Continuity of care – Being a familiar, reassuring presence throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks after baby arrives.
Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or adding to your growing family, my goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and empowered—never alone.
